Tunis has some large parks, out of them Belvedere Park is the largest with the covering area of 110 hectares. Established in 1892 on olive hills, this park was open for general public in 1910. Being located at Avenue Taieb Mehiri, just to the north of the city, this park is the oldest public park in the country.
Due to the scarcity of green spaces in the city, Belvedere Park is also known as the "lungs of Tunis". Built in the landscape style common to France, the park is the home to numerous gathering places. The park features-
Turkish pavilion – Located at the centre of the park, there is Turkish pavilion, also known as koubba which is an excellent example of Tunisian architecture (to be done). The pavilion features high domed ceilings decorated in wonderful and intricate pattern which make the interior part more cool and airy.
Tunis Zoo – Presenting the African fauna, the largest zoo of the city, Tunis Zoo is located next to Belvedere Park. This zoo has a range of animal and bird species including monkeys, elephants, deer and peacocks.
Lake on Place Pasteur – With the plethora of local cafes and restaurants, the visitors can cool off by the Lake Tunis and can enjoy and rest under the shady trees. 

Art Gallery – The Park also consist of a contemporary art gallery close to the entrance gate.
Being a delightful place for the tourists, the park is a popular gathering place for both families and young couples. Apart from all these features, Belvedere Park is also within the close proximity to some of the famous hotels like Hilton and Sheraton, which is mainly popular among business guests.
