 Ulysses Festival

Djerba was known as the land of Lotus-eaters in the ancient days. The plot of Homer’s epic Odyssey is said to be influenced by this place. If you do not have much knowledge on Odyssey, then you can participate in the Ulysses festival which re-enacts the story of Odyssey. The atmosphere of Djerba is very pleasant to enjoy and the vivid culture of Djerba offers a lot more to explore. The local people will be very delighted with your participation.
Djerba is located on the south-eastern coast of Tunisia and to reach there you can go to Zarzis from where you can take a ferry.
Neptune Trident Festival
Date- From October to November, 2008
Venue- Mahdia, Tunisia
Mahdia celebrates every year Neptune Trident Festival where you can enjoy underwater fishing contest thus enabling you to try some spear-fishing art. If you do not acquire the fishing skills then you can be a spectator watching the challenge.
Mahdia is located on the southern Mediterranean coast. It can be reached by rail from Monastir and Tunis. |
