From a Bedouin marriage market, the festival of Sahara Douz now holds some impressive camel races, greyhound racings and also to “fantasias” which is a military exercise on horseback. Tozeur is the nearest town to Douz which is located on the borders of the Sahara and it can be reached by air or train.

When the landscape gets direct heat from the sun, these salt lakes give a spectacular view of the mirages.
A causeway connects runs through Tozeur to Kebili passing through Chott thus enabling the travelers to get the best view of these salt lakes in Sahara. |
