Mediterranean Guitar Festival

The 4th Edition of Mediterranean Guitar Festival which is planned to take place from 21 to 26 March will be held at the municipal theatre, El Menzah sports and culture centre and the Carthage acropolium. The festival takes place annually and in this brief span of time has gained national as well as international recognition. The Mediterranean Guitar Festival has nurtured the talents of veteran as well as young guitarists. The enthusiasts can enjoy a variety of music played on different musical instruments.
Jazz in Carthage
Date- From April 10 to April 19, 2008
Venue- Carthage, Tunisia
The 2008 edition of Jazz in Carthage will open on 10th April, 2008 by the Brazilian composer and singer Gilberto Gil and he will be accompanied by his son Ben Gil and Portuguese singer Maria Joao. Though much is not known about the “Jazz in Carthage” but it is expected that the program might have the performances from Amar Sundy, William Parker jazz band, Dhafer Youssef and Gino Paoli. Young musical genre will get a good exposure in the Jazz in Carthage.
The ruins of the amphitheater lie in the suburbs of Tunis which has good transport connection.
Tabarka Jazz Festival

This season Tabarka will host new edition of Jazz Festival. The Tabarka Jazz Festival will amuse the huge crowd with timeless and polymorphic Jazz. You can listen to fusion Jazz music local and national artists. Musiqat

Ennejma Ezzahra in Sidi Bou Said is the Centre for Arab and Mediterranean Music in Tunisia. This time Musiqat will be hosting the third edition exploring the traditional and neo-traditional music which is the blend of the East and the West. Musiqat is a big event exchanging as well as promoting musical legacy and heritage. You have the opportunity to experience the rich diversity of music from academic to popular or from sacred to temporal. There are many countries that participate in this auspicious musical festival.
Ennejma Ezzahra is located 20 km away from Tunis City Centre and can be reached by taking TGM train to Amilcar or Sidi Said station.
World Isles Music Festival

Venue- Djerba
Started in 2004, Djerba hosts annually the World Isles Music Festival, a 5-day event which celebrates the age-old traditions and culture of the Djerba Island. Musicians, dancers, bands and other artists from faraway places like Caribbean and Pacific Islands. The colorful World Isles Music Festival attracts many people from the neighboring cities.
Djerba is an island which is lies in the south-east coast. You have to take a ferry from Zarzis to get there. |
