The Fish Auction might surprise you but if you want to this unique activity, you can visit the Houmt Souk in Djerba. In the busy streets of the Houmt Souk, people enjoy the bidding on fresh caught fishes displayed on a string. The bidding activity continues till the contender offering highest price wins it. The adjacent streets to the shopping scene are also worth visiting. There are stalls and shops selling spices, potteries, clothes and antiques.
Medina

The Medina has been honored as a world heritage site by the UNESCO for its 13th century souks. Passing through the streets of the bustling souks, you come across to an array of shops and stalls selling silver articles, ceramics, spices, leather and many other handicrafts.
The entry to the Medina is on the western end of Avenue Habib Bourguiba.
Halfaouine Market

It is on the ground floor of the Bardo Museum which is located towards the south of the city centre.
Douz Camel Market

Douz which is located on the borders of Sahara desert organizes Douz Camel Market once a week. The Douz Camel Market becomes a busy trade centre for buying and selling of camels. The Touareg tribesmen who consider the camels as an important commodity also visit the market. The weekly market in the Sahara desert attracts many tourists to this notable Camel market.
