Djerba TV Festival
Date- From April to May 2008
Venue- Djerba, Tunisia

Djerba TV Festival celebrated its first edition in 2006 and since then it has been hosting this international festival annually. The Djerba Film Festival is mainly dedicated to the works related to the field of television, screening dramas, documentaries and animation produced in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa. The first edition of this festival had the participants like Claudia Cardinale, Roger Hanin, Maurice Jerre and many others.

Djerba is an island which is lies in the south-east coast. You have to take a ferry from Zarzis to get there.


Dougga International Festival
Date- From July to August 2008
Venue- Dougga Roman Amphitheater, Dougga, Tunisia

At the Dougga International Festival, you can enjoy cultural performances by the leading names belonging to the world of classical and theatrical works. Apart from enjoying the stage performances in the summer air, you can also have the pleasure of exploring the antique walls of the amphitheater. International Festival of Carthage
Date- From July to August 2008
Venue- Carthage, Tunisia

The International Festival of Carthage started in 1964 and this year it is going to be the 44th Edition. The well-preserved Roman amphitheater of Carthage, which has been modernized with the latest audio and visual technologies used in theaters of 20th century, hosts several concerts of Jazz music and plays. It is one of the supreme international festivals of Tunisia where you can enjoy a fusion of local, traditional and international style of music and dance. Bourgeois class can have the chance to enjoy the parts of International theatre or can enjoy also enjoy Ballet performances.

The Amphitheater of the Carthage lies in the suburbs of Tunis which has excellent public transport connections.


International Festival of Hammammet
Date- From July to August, 2008
Venue- Hammammet, Tunisia
Time- From 10:00 pm to midnight

Hammammet is a pictorial town with golden beaches, medina and old town. At the International Festival of Hammammet, tourists can enjoy the flavor of local and international performances. International Festival of Bizerte

Star Wars Locations
Date- Daily
Venue- Star War Locations, Matmata, Tunisia

The ancient primitive settlements close to the Matmata are noted for its Star Wars film locations. The houses which are built underground were perfect for the setting of George Lucas’ Star War. The region of Matmata which is close to the Sahara attracts many fans of the Star Wars film. The locals of Matmata give you the opportunity to visit their houses and take photographs on payment of some amount. You can also plan your stay at the Sidi Driss Hotel which featured in the film Star Wars as Luke’s home at the Lars farm. You can also make your visit to Ajim which was used as Mos Eisley in the film.

Sidi Bou Said

The fishing village of      Sidi Bou Said is a pictorial town with cobbled passage twisting through blue and white houses. Once famous as the town of the artists, the city offers stunning view of the Tunisian beach and Bou Kornine Mountain. Sidi Bou Sais is a perfect place to relax enjoying mint tea. Far away from hustle and bustle of the city, you can enjoy the calm life in Sidi Bou Said.

Sidi Bou Said is 20 Km to the north-east of Tunis.

 

Sousse Ribat
Date- Daily
Venue- Ribat, Sousse, Tunisia

The Ribat in Sousse is a 27-metre tower offering spectacular view of the old town and the harbor. Once a remarkable feature in the Islamic settlement, in the recent days it has diminished from the Islamic architecture. The Ribat was used as a dwelling place of the murabitum who defended the city of Hadrumetun. The tower of the Sousse Ribat was used as a light-house and also as post to send signals to Egypt.

The Ribat is located opposite to the mosque in the medina.
